Cool Toy of the Month

The cool toy for May is the Godaikin Dancougar. I've seen many people put down Dancougar but I find this toy to be amazing. Each of five pieces transforms into a robot, robot animal or vehicle. Then they can come together to form Dancougar. Awesome engineering, and it came with a free poster!

Star Wars Episode I and Godaikins

What a great week. Wednesday I got to see a new Star Wars movie after waiting only 15+ years. I loved the SFX, but I didn't see any giant robots! Plus this week I've added some more Godaikins! Its kind of cool that I got into Shoguns and Godaikins around the time Star Wars was the new big thing. I saw an interesting news show which stated how Lucas was the first person to tie merchandising into a media project. I guess they never saw any of the super robots shows or the amazing toys that the Japanese were making. Or maybe Lucas did see them. Hmmmm?

Godaikins are coming!

I've added three more Godaikins to the site and hope to add more shortly. I'm trying to catalog those robots not mentioned on my old Godaikin page first. Hope you enjoy the information!

Combattra Godaikin

I have finally begun adding my godaikins to the site. I decided to begin with Combattra. I believe this to be the greatest of all the Godaikins and the greatest toy ever made, except maybe LEGOs, but thats another deal. Lots of new images of Combattra in hi-res thanks to the new digi cam.

The Good Old Days

Take a look at this old picture of a dealer's table. You don't see things like this anymore. Imagine selling toys by the bushel. Its hard to believe it ever happened!?

Kaiyodo Combattler Review

I added a review of the Kaiyodo Giant Combattler toy. I love this toy but it got a rough review. There are six important factors used to rate each toy and Kaiyodo forgot about three of those. Check out the review.

New Popy Catalogs

Evan Baumeister has sent in some great scans of an older Popy catalog. I've added it to the catalogs section for everyone to take a look at. If only I had a time machine and a pocket full of Yen. Please be careful of drooling on your keyboard while viewing these images : )

Toy Identified... maybe?

 Romando Flexible Robot Kit!

Many thanks go out to Matt Alt for identifying this toy/kit I got (he tells me its 99% definite). Everything on the box and in the instructions is in Japanese so I had no real idea who the manufacturer was. It's Combattra related so I had to get it anyway. This guy is not nearly as big as the Kaiyodo combattler and not as sturdy....Maybe I'll review both of them. anyway Matt states that it is the Romando Flexible Robot Kit. Thanks again Matt...if only we all spoke and read Japanese.

Kaiyodo Combattler

I just picked up a Kaiyodo Combattler-V today. This thing is huge, almost a Jumbo Machinder. In the one picture I have up, there is an SOC Great Mazinger in front to show scale. I just happened to see this thing in a toy store as I was looking around. Its not very poseable, but it is still very cool looking and feels really solid. Look for a review of this toy later this week. A must have for any Combattra fanatic.

I've added a link to my old Godaikin page from my new "under construction" Godaikin page. Thanks go out to I-Wei Huang for the idea. Also check out I-Wei's collection page.

Check out some of the old news pages and see what you may have missed.
